On my very first trip to Morocco, we stayed at the Selman Hotel for a few days in Marrakech. Although I was a bit nervous for my trip, once I was welcomed at this hotel, all of my nerves went away. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! One of my favorite things to admire when traveling is architecture. Architecture from country to country is always different, and I love thinking about the reason the architect chose to design the building in certain ways. It also puts a time stamp on the structure. On top of that, the art within the hotel was stunning. You can tell those who were involved in the designing / curating of the hotel all had paid attention to all the intricate details.
The rooms were super modern yet luxurious while being spacious for how populated the city of Marrakech is! We happened to have a great view by the pool area. There was also a traditional Moroccan restaurant within the hotel that also had an exquisite interior (surprise surprise) with food that was comparable to the beautiful art surrounding you. This place was to die for. I usually judge a hotel by a few main key factors, and two of the most important ones are the quality of the spa and how good the breakfast is. I am usually open to staying anywhere for the first time, but the factors that push me to come back to the exact same place in a city to stay again would be: spa and breakfast quality. Let me tell you, the spa at the Selman had definitely made the cut in my book. I got one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had in my life! Not to mention, the actual spa amenities were out of this world! For breakfast, they had a breakfast buffet every morning that served traditional breakfast foods along with traditional Moroccan style breakfast. I was really into it. I am pretty sure I had two plates of food every morning.
