As a blogger and stylist, I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for the best trends to buy into. And one that caught my eye is slouchy boots. Although I don’t see a lot of people rocking it quite yet, give it another month or two, and I promise, you’ll see them everywhere. I think we’ve all come to a point where we’re tired of seeing the same old over the knee boots and sock boots that it’s time for a new shoe style to take over. The slouchy boot strikes a stunning combo with anything in your wardrobe from floaty midi skirts to corduroy minis. It even breathes life back into your skinny jeans. If you still haven’t given this footwear the green light, here are my tips on how to wear slouchy boots.
Midi or Mini Skirts
Slouchy boots are a stunner with skirts of all lengths but I love them most with midi and mini styles to really show off the scrunch detailing. I purchased these Yeezy boots several weeks ago and have been tempted to wear them everyday. The low heel makes it perfect for walking in and they lend a cool, undone feel.
Skinny jeans haven’t had a place in the spotlight lately, but knee high slouchy boots will put all your old favorite pairs to use again. The longer shaft helps make you appear taller and leaner while keeping your calves snug and warm. Pair this combo with an oversized sweater or a tailored blazer for an on-trend, chic look.
Slouchy boots with a stiletto heel is great way to transition your dresses into fall. It’s a great way to play down the sweetness of a floral or ruffle dress.
If all else fails, pair your slouchy boots with leather pants for a streamlined, edgy look. If you’re a minimalist dresser and love black as much as I do, you can’t go wrong with this outfit combo. Layer a chunky knit tunic over your leather pants and top it off with a coat. To make your boots the center of attention, change out black for a burgundy or cognac pair.
