HOW TO HOST A HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR ADULTS

I can’t remember the last time I celebrated Halloween. But with my apartment coming together, friends always hanging out, and Halloween just around the corner, this was the perfect excuse to host a themed party the grown-up way. I used to think that getting in the spirit of Halloween meant filling your home with jack-o-lanterns and skeletons. However, since furnishing my space, I’m realizing that there are plenty of ways to put a chic spin on a Halloween-themed party. If you’re interested in getting your friends together for something beyond graveyard motifs, here’s a little inspiration on how to host a Halloween party for adults:

1. Entertain with a few bottles of wine

A party isn’t a party without delicious drinks. I’m keeping things classy this year by serving my favorite Love Noir wine. I love the Pinot Noir because the taste is unique with flavors of dark cherry and rich espresso – which you guys already know I have an obsession with. It’s silky smooth and easy for casual drinking without costing a fortune. The black bottle with gold label also makes for a great decor addition to a table setting.

2. Curate a moody table setting

Since I love black and already have a few dark tables, it was perfect for creating a festive tablescape for Halloween. I didn’t just want to focus on black and orange since that can be too intentional as an adult. So, I incorporated white as well as orange pumpkins, then added pops of gold with candlesticks and utensils for that bit of sophisticated glamour. When curating a table setting, think about your lighting. I always love adding candles to set the mood.

3. Serve more than candy

I’m a sucker for candy, but wanted to serve something that complements wine. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a cheese plate served alongside fruits and nuts. Those are a few of my favorite things to pair with Love Noir’s Pinot Noir.

4. Decadent desserts with festive decor

To tie it all together, you have to have dessert. I went with something dark and decadent – like cherry pie, which also pairs perfectly with Love Noir’s Pinot Noir, given the notes of dark cherry and rich espresso. Even though you can’t get too creative decorating a pie, you can always jazz it up on a proper stand and set it with festive Halloween decor.
