There’s nothing I love better than plump, luminous, hydrated skin. When my skin is properly moisturized my makeup goes on more smoothly, my other skincare products work better, the sun shines a little brighter…LOL. Well, maybe not all that, but I take extra care to keep my skin fresh and glowing and it makes a difference.
As much as I love testing new products, I have a core group of glow-givers that I know I can count on. Here’s the rundown:
First up, my new go-to mask, primer, and under-eye hydrator Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. The texture of this product is indescribable, it has the feel of a thick, luxurious cream, but feels extremely lightweight on my skin. I’ve used it as a mask, sleep mask, and makeup primer and it knocks it out of the park every time. Just apply it, wait ten minutes, then blot off the excess, or just let it melt into your skin and enjoy all the hydrating goodness.
If you’re just getting into skincare, my advice is learn your ingredients. It makes it much easier to judge if a product will work for you before testing (or buying.) For example, I know my skin loves anything rose-related. It’s a gentle ingredient, softens, soothes, and I love the scent. I knew I’d love the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream before I tried it — and I was right. (P.S. it also comes as an eye gel and face mask. Two words: yes and yes.)
The world of facial oils can be really intimidating. Learning which oils will work well with your skin — and each other — takes a lot of effort. If that doesn’t sound like your thing, look for blends that do all the work for you. I recommend the Mara Algae + Moringa Universal Face Oil. It’s a combination of plant oils (moringa, bilberry, baobab, and kalahari melon, to be exact.) These superfoods have vitamins A, B, C, D, and E to help with collagen, fine lines, and hydration.
If you’re looking to boost your skin’s hydration with added anti-aging benefits, try the Crème Ancienne Supreme Face Serum by Fresh. It’s got a lengthy list of ingredients, everything from meadowfoam oil to soften, San Chi root to firm, and Galanga leaf extract for suppleness. Not only does it nourish skin, but it improves skin’s elasticity and protects against the environment. I like to approach anti-aging gently but effectively and this serum does the trick.
Finding the right cream for my under eye area was no easy task. If a formula is too thin it can creep into my waterline and cause me to tear up, and formulas that are too thick just sit on the top of my skin, don’t get absorbed, and don’t work. Fresh’s Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate is the perfect balance. It works in two ways, the black tea and blackberry work to improve elasticity and Noni fruit juice increases and maintains moisture. What’s not to love?
If there’s a product out there that gives YOU the most glowy, hydrated skin, gimme the deets in the comments!
