Accessories tend to fall into two categories for me – need and excess. In the needs section are structured handbags I can carry forever, seasonless boots, and classic jewelry. On the side of excess, are larger than life accessories that add a punch to any look. Today’s post covers the frivolous, bold accessories that will reboot any outfit. If you’re ready to end summer and head into fall with some swagger, you might want to cop one of the selects below.
Statement Sunglasses
Tiny is out and big is in this fall but don’t mind me embracing the tiny trend through its demise. I took it to the next level with these top, yellow-rimmed Prada ones and had to throw in the yellow popsicle to change up the blogger shoot game. If you’re looking for something fall forward, you might want to look for shapes inducing matrix vibes or anything futuristic.
Animal Prints + Textures
Bold colors might have dominated the first half of the year, but it’s all about animal prints and textures this second half. I’m already on that croc situation with my new Phillip Lim bag and Dear Frances slides that I basically wore all summer. But everything from snake skin to zebra print is bound to be all in. What’s great about animal prints and textures is that you only need a small hit to transform your look.
Everything Plaid
Designers are mad for plaid and so am I. What makes plaid so alluring is that it’s cozy, carries on tradition, and exudes a “borrowed from the boys” effect – which is evident in this Anine Bing blazer I’m wearing. A fresh pair of plaid kicks in an eye-catching color like red will draw all eyes down and make you stand out in a crowd.
What are some of your favorite bold accessory trends?
