Wow. 2018 has been going really well for me. I really took the new year new habits thing literally, and have been so on top of everything in regards to all aspects of my life. Back in 2017, my good friend Lisa Adams (founder of LA Closet Design) and I discussed turning my second bedroom into a closet / guest room. It was all discussion back then, and now we are really making moves. I would say 2018 is the year of less talk, and more doing.
With that being said, Lisa and I really got the ball rolling last week by spending the day together finding inspiration for my closet / guest room along with having girl time. We started our day our by getting our hair done by my go-to stylist, Nic (who coincidentally does her hair as well). She has a youtube channel (SUBSCRIBE !!) and we are shooting a video collaboration about this project. I will share it with you all as soon as it is done! After getting our hair done, we headed over to Stella McCartney for inspiration and I wanted Lisa to get the vibes of my personal style. I love anything that is edgy, modern, and classic with a twist of masculine undertones. So basically anything that has black and brass along with neutral colors with subtle art deco pops of color goes well with my closet room. That is almost entirely what my whole condo interior decor is inspired by. Imagine Kelly Wearstler vibes times my signature TS dark and moody vibes.
After going to Stella McCartney, we went to Consort Design for more inspiration. Consort Design was founded by two badass men, Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone, who are incredibly innovative and creative. They have designed the homes for many high-profile individuals and crazy successful businesses. Their store and website offers beautiful custom made furniture with a handmade vintage minimalistic twist. I absolutely fell in love with their light fixtures, so I am thinking about getting a couple of pieces from them. While at the store, we also filmed a few clips on what to do for my second bedroom there.
After that, we came back to the condo to fully look at the space and go over what she had mocked up for me for the closet design. I fell in love with it!! She totally heard me, and took into context my vision, and is turning it into real life!! The design is HIGHLY functional as it includes a couch that pulls out into a bed for the guests I am always having over at my place. Initially when we started this project this room was going to be just a closet room. However, it was such a great idea to turn it into a closet room that doubles as a guest room. AMAZING. The black and brass details in the color story are my favorite, and I truly cannot wait for this project to be done. I cannot believe this is all happening so fast, and I am falling more in love with my first condo every day! I can’t wait to share it with you all! Hopefully I will have an after post up sooner rather than later!
