TOP FALL TRENDS FROM NYFW

I’m so glad to be back in LA for a quick stop after an insane week in Toronto and NYC. But it’s only for a brief moment, then I’m off again for Paris Fashion Week. I wanted to share one of my favorite outfits that I wore, featuring this killer trench coat from Burberry! Everything about it from the mixed plaid, oversized fit, and grungy vibe is totally my aesthetic. And on that note, let’s talk about a few other cool things I saw during NFYW.

NYFW is always exciting for the shows and catching up with old friends. However, the street style is probably one of the things I look forward to most. What you see on the runway applies to the next season ahead which may not make a whole lot of sense for the majority of us in real life. But if you pay attention to the streets during fashion week, you’ll get tons of inspiration for season that’s about to hit. And that’s fall. I caught sight of so many cool ensembles, so I wanted to kick off fall on the blog with the top fall trends from NYFW.

Plaid

I’m one of the many you would have caught in this trend as pictured today. Plaid can be one of those prints that reference our early years of academia, so wear it with unconventional pairings. I paired my plaid coat with some vinyl heels and a patent leather skirt to channel a cool, grungy mix.

Animal Prints

Between snake and leopard print, I’m not sure who the clear winner is. But if there’s one thing I’m certain of, it’s that animal prints are going to be HUGE.

Neon Brights

Fall brings us no shortage of bright, bold colors from highlighter green to red and yellow to fuchsia. Pull of this trend in streamlined silhouettes and luxe fabrics.

Bold Florals

Florals are no longer reserved for the warm weather months. Enter a new genre of florals with bold shapes and moody colors. I’m loving how fall florals have moved away from dainty, feminine versions.

Western

Fashion week marks the return of the cowboy! Take your pick between edgy ankle boots to tall audacious styles.

Trench Coats

Blame it on the rain if you want, but I have a feeling trench coats will take the cake when it comes to outerwear for the season. From high shine textures to mixed prints, I’m of course a fan!

Metallics

The future is now! Whether you’re into heavy metals or glamorous sequins, we’re all going to be shining bright like diamonds this fall.
