Sunglasses aren’t only a summer staple to me. They’re an accessory I wear year-round, and I’m not afraid to admit that I have heaps of them in my wardrobe especially the ones I’ve been wearing nonstop from Gigi Barcelona. Besides guarding your eyes against the harsh sun, sunglasses are perfect for topping off your look. The shape of the lenses and style of frames can change your entire vibe. This year came with a bunch of quirky trends to try, but I’ve culled down my favorites to just 4. There are still several weeks of summer to go, so if you’re in the market for some fresh eyewear, these are the best sunglasses of summer 2018:
The tiny sunnies trend is probably my favorite, and you’ve seen me rock this style over and over. My style is def on the urban and minimal side so a pair of tiny shades add a cool vintage detail. If you’re only in need of one new style this summer, these are the ones to buy!
This year brought back the cat eye sunnies. The smaller frame and pointed ends are what makes them so different this go-around. I’d wear a thick clear or white rim pair because it keeps the style modern and relevant. The Le Specs one are what you’ll find all over the gram!
If you’re into that classy, feel-good style, round sunglasses might be the most timeless option. From thick to metal frames, you’ll get a good mesh of contemporary and vintage feels in your daily look.
What I deem to be the most wearable and accessible on this list: bold rectangular sunglasses (as seen here). They’re a little more statement-making but look amazing with a simple jeans + tee outfit or sleek trousers and a leather jacket.
