Before my insanely creative photographer friend, Chelsea, moved to New York, we tried to shoot a few things and collaborate to create beautiful content. (Seriously check out her stuff, she is a creative genius!) When I think of creative geniuses, one of the first names that come up is designer, Poppy Lissiman. I knew that shooting something designed by Poppy Lissiman was a must that day since I knew Chels would do her justice.

Poppy is an Australian born designer that spent a lot of her time in Hong Kong. She got a lot of her inspiration from the fashion in Asia along that aligns with her whacky, left of centre, kind of cute verging on weird vibe. Lissimans approach to designing her products and campaigns can be characterized as quirky/whimsical.  It is as if it were created by fusing together pop art, surrealism, and modern day glamour.

If you go to her website or Instagram, the way they shoot their campaigns and photos are well curated with every detail accounted for. I am obsessed with how she has managed to forge together fashion and art quite literally. These retro-chic sunglasses I am wearing are in the Le Skinny style and come in so many colors. Mixing and matching bold colors and patterns have started to become my thing, and I love it!

Naturally, I knew I needed to also emphasize in this post my best purchase of 2017. Yes, you read that correctly. This was my most favorite and mostly utilized purchase of the year. This being my Balenciaga sneakers.

Spending hundreds of dollars on a pair of sneakers can admittedly be tough to wrap your head around, but these Balenciaga sock-sneakers are (no joke) the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are super transitional, and you can wear this with almost anything. You name it. From joggers to jeans to trousers to skirts and even dresses. Somehow these shoes make the right dress look chic af. You will find me sporting these sneakers at least once a week in an either very casual look or a dressed up look.  I know that these shoes are basically sold out everywhere, and have been for months, but if you can you MUST purchase these. They are the best investment. If I only could bring one pair of shoes on a three month trip, it would be these. Now that is a statement.

All in all, despite their price tag, the sneakers are surprisingly extremely versatile. These sock-sneakers inspired the trend of other sock sneakers into the sock style boots. Truly iconic. This post is not sponsored at all, I just truly love these shoes. Keep an eye out, and purchase them when you can! You won’t regret it.

Love the glasses as an alternative to the Le Specs that everyone is wearing. But, those sneakers! Balenciaga is not in my budget, but I ❤️ these so much! I need to find a good dupe.
