There is nothing more comfortable than a silky pajama shirt. However, there comes a time when you need to get dressed and leave the house. With pajamas trending hard on the streets right now, it’s possible to wear your pajama shirt all day and still look chic. The sleepwear trend is quickly becoming one of my favorite throw-on-and-go looks. If you didn’t think you could pull off pjs during the day, below are my top tips on how to get the look right.
Dress it up
Since pajama tops are casual in nature, the easiest way to pull it off during the day is by dressing it up. Silky fabrics are the easiest to work with since they’re inherently dressy. Plus, you can style it further with heels, slack pants, and jewelry. I wore my pj shirt with satin trousers, statement earrings, and heeled boots. This is a look that works for day or night.
Layer it up
Given the cold nature of winter, you could also layer up a silk pajama shirt with a turtleneck top or basic tee underneath. This makes a great pairing with denim or leather. You can also layer over it with a blazer or a leather trench coat.
Personalize it
As is the case with any trend, make it your own by adding your personal touch. Try a half front tuck like I did – this always makes for an effortless touch. You could also roll up the sleeves or button it all the way to the top and add a high-waisted skirt. Also, experiment with different textures to add more dimension to your outfit. A silky top beckons leather, linen, and denim.
