My wardrobe is a mashup of luxe classics, streetwear, and the latest trends with an emphasis on unconventional styling. I obsess over a chic blazer as much as a pair of distressed jeans, but this combo doesn’t always work in more upscale settings. There’s a time and place for everything – and sometimes that means sticking to luxe classics even if you love cooler street style outfits.

When you think of edgy style, I’m sure ripped jeans, chains, studs, and leather immediately come to mind. But it can be as subtle or extreme as you like. In this look, I’m rocking a minimal, but edgy ensemble that you can quickly recreate with items already in the closet. I’ll be sharing some sage styling advice to help make your wardrobe classics edgy for those who have been in a style rut.

Black or darker tones are paramount for channeling that tough, cool-girl vibe. You can avoid making dark outfits flat by mixing different fabrics together and occasionally adding prints. Stripes are nothing new, but a sleek pinstripe blazer with asymmetrical detailing and strong shoulders take this basic piece to another level. It’s also perfect for changing up a full-black look.

Then to bring in some modern dimension, I went with a satin blouse and cinched the blazer with a leather belt bag. The mix of three different textures is what makes this look so unique. Also, notice how I swapped a traditional belt for a fanny pack – this will drive you to the forefront of bold, cool-girl style. And finally, I tied everything together with chic, mysterious sunglasses. Sometimes, it’s best to let your accessories do all the talking and these Nicole Miller sunnies are perfect with its on-trend rectangular frames and gold bridge. They’re my go-to when I’m craving an effortlessly cool look.

Yes! Great ideas! Need More of these on how to edge up ! As I get older in my 40’s – some of my ‘classic’ combos can age me even more & look blah. so I love to add some sort of edge and I tend to just do it with the Shoes. I Love your style Tania !
