Before I begin, I just want to say that a lot of you have been asking about my Malone Souliers mules. Now is the perfect time to grab them because Shopbop has their usual Event of the Season Sale. This means you can get these shoes plus everything I’m talking about today for 20-25% off! The sale ends September 29 (Saturday) so take advantage of a little savings.
Now for a little color story, I noticed that I have been wearing a lot of green as of late summer from these green trousers to this set, this bag, and these pants. That’s a lot of green for someone who primarily sticks to black and white. Since it’s not as popular as the ubiquitous red, I wanted to talk about my favorite color trend for fall – green – and why it’s the perfect color to add to your wardrobe.
Functions as a neutral
Green really functions as a neutral in my book especially if you opt for olive, military greens. It’s close to khaki and looks surprisingly stunning with patterns as seen on my shoes. I saw some fashion editor pair animal print with green and I was taken aback by how chic she looked. If you’re new to wearing green, a darker hunter or muted olive would be best to test the waters with.
Pairs like a dream with other colors
With neon brights taking center stage, green is the best way to rock the trend. Pair a green skirt with a magenta top or green trousers with cobalt blue heels and you’ve got a winner. During fashion week, I wore my red Burberry trench with a green bag (as seen here) – and I did not channel Christmas vibes at all!
Perfect accent color
I get it if you just cannot commit to color. That’s why accessories exist. I have become a big fan of green handbags lately and won’t hesitate to pick up a pair of luxe green heels. This richer hue looks sophisticated on accessories and will easily draw all eyes on you as most people aren’t wearing green just yet.
